A study by the University of Newcastle, in Australia into the whole business of contamination of the world by plastic microparticles claims we ingest around 2000 a week – which is the equivalent of a credit card.

Commissioned by the World Wildlife Fund, it was a worldwide study to assess the problem of plastic particles – which seem to be turning up everywhere.
Incidentally, the amount of plastic micro particles ingested for the average American is about doubled if you drink bottled rather than tap water – not to mention you’ve got to dispose of the bottle afterwards.
But don’t worry, all these credit cards we’re eating won’t have time to get us. We’ll all be dead by 2050, is the prediction, as we are not responding fast enough to climate change.
