I'm a doctor and I have been to Oz a couple of times and worked temporary "locum" jobs - including for the NSW Flying Doctor service. First time I was seeing patients, some rough tough station hand in a "wife beater" singlet comes and sits down and I ask him what's wrong, and he tells me "I'm crook doc." And I thought they spoke English in Australia.
